Military Health & Readiness Consortium (MiHRC)

Dr. Tucker is a founding member of the Military Health and Readiness Consortium (MiHRC), an organization of scholars, military leaders, and active-duty military personnel dedicated to advancing health, resilience, and operational readiness among military service members, veterans, first responders, and their families through evidence-based research and scientific innovation. The MiHRC was created as part of a community-based participatory research (CBPR) project to develop a leadership training that teaches commissioned officers how to support the purpose in life of their subordinates. The training was developed and implemented as an upstream suicide prevention program with the main target of improving purpose in life in active-duty personnel. After the success of the initial development in active-duty Army in Alaska, efforts have been expanded to implementing in the Alaska National Guard and Coast Guard.
